Does it work on Enterprise edition of SharePoint?

Apr 20, 2012 at 10:39 AM

It states it is compatible with Foundation edition, does it work with Enterprise edition?

I created the site on a Enterprise edition, but I turned off as many features as possible. In my opinion it is Foundation compatible, but I have to check it.

Marijnsomers,

Any update on whether or not it is compatible with the Enterprise edition?

I read the initial question wrong! Yes, it is compatible with EE, since I created it on a EE.

I have just tried creating a site from your template and received an error;

The site template requires that the Feature {e995e28b-9ba8-4668-9933-cf5c146d7a9f} be activated in the site collection.

please advise what features were installed in your environment and what pre-requisites are required to deploy this solution

I have got this working now...

I had to run a script to enable the Excel Mobile Viewer...

Ah! Thanks for trying it out and telling me the error. I will post a workable version as soon as possible!

I just added another release to deal with the issue. Could you try it out and see if you are still getting the error ?

Hi,

That worked no problem.

I deployed it to a different farm where I have not the run script before.

Great!

Have fun with it, if you have questions / comments, I will be happy to answer them!

Keep me posted if you are going to use the site or/and what you have changed for it to work optimally in your organisation!

Hi,

I just downloaded the newest version (1C) and when creating a site based on the template I receved an error which indicated that a feature needed to be enabled (6e8f2b8d-d765-4e69-84ea-5702574c11d6) which correalates to the "FAST Search End User Help Collection" feature. We do have FAST serach in our fully licencsed environment, but I am not familiar with this feature. It is neither in the Site not Site Collection Feature pages, so I'm assumming it must be a feature that needs enabled in Central Admin.

Can you provide any input or guidance on this? Is this a probem with teh template, or is this a legitamate feature the temaplate needs to function properly?

Thanks,

Areon Jackson

Help Collections are controlled under Site Settings > Site Collection Administration > Help Settings

They are as the name suggests collections of help files which can be turned off and on as required based on the features activated in your environment.

Switch on the help collection(s) you require and then try creating a site from the template.

It appears there are a lot of features still installed when I created this template. I will need to get rid of them.

Sorry guys for all the errors, it is the first time that I create such a thing

Hi,

I have just downloaded the Governance site and I have the below issue:

The site template requires that the Feature {6e8f2b8d-d765-4e69-84ea-54730438dee3} be activated in the site collection.

Do you have an idea which Features need to be activated?

Thanks

Is that feature GUID correct, as normally a search query will return what feature that is and what needs to be activated

May 13, 2012 at 11:41 PM

Hi,

Yes this feature is correct.

It looks like it is the Feature ID for  "FAST Search End User Help Collection". However, I do not have FAST search install in my farm.

How can I then use the site template?

I have selected the Help Collections as suggested in you post earlier but it did not work.

Do you have any idea?

I've tried installing this on my trial version of Office 365. It uploads and activates ok, however, when it comes time to create a site based on the template I recieve:

The site template requires that the Feature {068bc832-4951-11dc-8314-0800200c9a66} be activated in the site collection. etc.

Apparently it is the "EnhancedTheming" Feature (ID: 068BC832-4951-11DC-8314-0800200C9A66).

Someone had this exact error, however, because it is your template we are unable to solve the issue as discussed by "alan-p" in this post:

http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/148/p/17110/82621.aspx

Quote:

"Ok. after much pondering on how to enable the features on Office 365. I figured the following workarounds with some help from google/bing..

for the SignaturesWorkflow-6c09612b-46af-4b2f-8dfc-59185c962a29, I required to enable the SharePoint 2007 compatible workflow. This eventhough the source template site collection features did not have this feature enabled.

After this I received an error with WACustomReports - af6d9aec-7c38-4dda-997f-cc1ddbb87c92. There was no feature that I activated in OFfice365 that got me through this error. Both source and destination have the same features enabled except the SharePoint 2007 workflows.

However, I also learnt from this post

http://sharepointconnoisseur.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-enable-sharepoint-2010-web.html

that some features are auto activated during installation and the same features may not be activated in some installations. wierd but I bought into the argument. and it is true. One of my SP environment I had to explicitly activate these features so a site based on the template can be created on-premise.

So I uninstalled the SignaturesWorkflow and WACustomReports on source using Powershell. Disable-SPFeature -Identity WACustomReports -url http://whateveryoursitecollectionurl/

Then I resaved the site template deployed to office 365 and the site was created."

End quote.
